Recap of the Week

I've slacked off again. I know. Shame shame shame. But this week I was sick all week and couldn't even really focus until midweek. After that, well I don't really have much of an excuse why I didn't blog. I have been slightly addicted to the games on Facebook. They're taking up a lot of time.

Last weekend, Rob and I went downtown to continue the Month of Rob. First, we had a very tasty dinner at Michelino's down on the Riverwalk. It was really good.

I love being able to eat outside by the water. Especially since it's March! This time we asked not to sit down by the side walk like we did on my birthday because it bothers me when people walk past me and my food. This time we were up on the porch so we could still enjoy the sights without the nasties.

I even got a very tasty drink!!

After that, we head back to the mall downtown where we were going to be seeing Oz The Great and Powerful when we started hearing gun shots and cannon fire up by the Alamo. To our surprise, they were doing reenactments of the Battle of the Alamo and we got their just in time to watch the end of. Very, very cool. Wish we would have known it was happening so we could have seen the entire thing and so I could have brought my camera to take photos.

Then we stopped at a wine tasting place on the outside of the mall because we had some time to kill before the movie. And boy did they have some good wine!! All kinds of really fruity wine other than just grapes. Rob and I are going to go back to taste some more so we can buy a bottle to take with us on our anniversary to Corpus Christi.

Eventually it was time to watch the movie. Let me just say that the AMC theater downtown at the mall is not my favorite place to go. I know they are getting new seats installed soon but until then, don't go. I have never been in so much pain watching a movie. The seats that they do have only come up like half way up your back and then when one person moves in the row, the entire row of seats would rock back and forth. I wasn't the happiest of campers. And, not that this was the movie theaters fault, but as soon as we got seated, the very large (large as in many not fat) family that took up like an entire row in front of us had a child start vomiting directly in front of our seats. And then it took them forever to come clean up. And then one of their other children decided the seat was a drum for the entire movie. Lovely. Maybe they were too young to come to the movies...Just a thought...

But, Oz the Great and Powerful was very good and that's all that matters.

We didn't have anything going on this week except for Rob going to work everyday and me being sick until Thursday. That's when I got an email from a fellow Army wife asking if I was joining in on the free bowling that was mandatory for the husbands to go to. I had no idea what she was talking about but eventually got a hold of Rob and found out it was something we were going to. We had a blast bowling and I finally got to meet a few more of the soldiers and the families. It's something that they want to start planning for every month which I think is a great idea!

That brings us to today since nothing happened on Friday. I've been planning Rob's birthday so that kind of takes up my time during the week. Today, we got to sleep in which was glorious. I love getting to sleep in with Rob and have a few minutes of cuddle time. Today was also our March date night for our 12 Months of Dates (check out the tab at the top of the page) so you read all about that there instead of me retyping it.

Well, that wraps our week up pretty well. Tomorrow we aren't doing anything so I probably won't post unless something interesting happens.

Hope you all have a great weekend!!!
